It's not just for breakfast any more.
As Donna Kelly tells us,
"French toast is derived from the
original French recipe "pain
perdu" or lost bread.
It was an ingenious way to use the stale
bread and waste nothing". This
book shows us how to incorporate this
favorite dish for all meals - deliciously.
Her French Twist Casserole,
and Tomato Basil Monte Cristos are
wonderful examples of what can be done
with bread and a twist.
These are recipes the entire family will
enjoy.
Donna also includes a
section on syrups and sauces and her "Old-
Fashioned Buttermilk Syrup" proved
to be a winner at my house and will be
used for many breakfasts to come. It
is a great addition to waffles, or
"French Toast". This book
is great for anyone who loves French
Toast, or just needs new ideas to
spice up a variety of meals.
